Protection
Protección
You are never as alone as your fear would have you believe.
Protection does not need to be loud nor forceful. A mountain ridge shelters the valley from harsh winds. The tender agave heart is wrapped in strong leaves. The tortoise carries its shelter wherever it goes.
When this card is drawn, it invites you to notice the quiet forms of protection that have made your life possible. In the same way, a great tree whose canopy softens the wind, filters the light, and creates shelter for everything growing beneath it, protection often works without announcing itself. A person who stood beside you. A place that gave you refuge. A tradition, instinct, or inner strength that helped you endure.
Who or what has quietly protected you throughout your life? Notice what has sheltered you, especially the forms of care you may have only recognized in hindsight. Protection is not weakness. It is the presence that allows life to unfold with courage.
You can walk forward with quiet strength because you do not walk alone. You are guided, sheltered, and stronger than you know.
Reflection Practice
Sit beneath the branches of a large tree. Notice how its canopy changes the light, softens the wind, and creates space for other life to flourish beneath it. Spend a few moments reflecting on the quiet forms of protection that have helped shape your own life.
Journal Prompt
