Cleansing
Limpieza
May what is true remain.
When sage is burned, the smoke rises through every corner of a room, carrying away what has settled there, preparing the room to be inhabited again.
Our inner lives are much the same. Worry, resentment, and expectation accumulate until we mistake them for who we are.
Cleansing is not about becoming someone new. It is allowing what no longer belongs to drift away, revealing the authentic self that has been there all along. What feels ready to be gently cleared away? Notice what has gathered around your true nature—a thought, a role, a disappointment, an expectation—and allow it to loosen its hold.
This card invites you to release what obscures you, trusting that clarity does not need to be created, only uncovered. I release what obscures my true nature and welcome clarity.
Reflection Practice
Choose a simple act of cleansing: wash your hands, open a window, sweep a room, or let the fragrant smoke of a meaningful plant or incense fill your space. As you do, treat the moment as a threshold between what has been and what comes next. When you are finished, pause and notice how you feel before continuing your day.
