Release
Liberación
Not everything is meant to follow you into tomorrow.
Trees release their leaves without fearing winter. Evening releases the day without asking whether it has done enough. Nature does not cling to one season when another is ready to begin.
We are often less certain. We hold on to conversations, disappointments, and expectations long after they have finished shaping us. Sometimes release begins simply by naming what we are still carrying. What have you continued carrying after it finished changing me? Writing it down, holding it for a moment, and then letting it go can make visible what the heart has been ready to set down.
Release is not forgetting. It is making room. What is meant to remain will remain. The lesson, the love, even grief changes with time.
This card arrives when something has completed its work. There may be sadness in opening your hand, but also relief. Often, they arrive together.
Reflection Practice
Write down one thought, expectation, or memory you've been carrying longer than you wish. Fold the paper and hold it for a moment. Then dispose of it in a respectful way. Notice what it feels like once it has been released.
Journal Prompt
- What have I continued carrying after it finished changing me?
Affirmation
I release what has completed its work and welcome what is ready to begin.
