Obsidian, born where fire meets the earth, hidden in volcanic stone until skilled hands reveal its edges. The Mexica honored it as the sacred stone of Tezcatlipoca, whose smoking mirror revealed not only what was seen, but what lay beneath appearances.

This card arrives when trouble is close. When every option carries a cost, the path ahead is obscured, or circumstances have become more complicated than you hoped. In such moments, more information does not always bring certainty. Sometimes you have to see clearly within the uncertainty and move carefully through what cannot be avoided.

Obsidian invites you to sharpen your discernment. Look beneath appearances. Be honest about what is dangerous, what is possible, and what must be faced. You may not be able to find a perfect choice.
